Air force H

During WW2 the air base at Walnut Ridge Ar had a yellow H farmall the pulled the planes around. After the war the planes where scrapped & smelted at that location. The H pulled those bomers to their final demise. Later the goverment bonated the buildings and much equiptment to the college. In 1985 the college has a auction. the Yellow H was there They couldnt get it running. New battery points dist cap & rotor, New kit in carb. Dad dought the H for 185.00 My sons and I went to fetch it home. When we arrived the college professor commenced to telling me how their mechanic was the best around and the H would need a complete rebuild before it would run again. While he was talking My sons Randy 11 and Chris 9 determined it wasnt firing. We had brought a distributer along. So they pulled the magnito and installed the distributer taped a coil to the oil filter and ran a line to the battery. It started and ran beatuifully on the fist revolution. The professor was flabbergasted. Chris who had started driving a B farmall raking hay when he was five just took off was in fifth gear headed for home in a heartbeat. The tractor was used and abused for many years. About 10 years ago the transmission locked up when dad was going down a steep hill. I think its in two gears at the same time? Any way Chris died in a car wreck in 1993. The old H is in pretty bad condition. My oldest son Randy is into WW2 reanacting he has a WW2 motorcycle and a WC dodge and wants to Restore the H If he can get it from my parents estate.
