My truck story

I was just remembering a 1952 Chevrolet one ton I had about 25 years ago. Someone at work said he had a car and a half garage someone gave him if he could get it moved. I told him I saw someone moving a garage like his a short way on a larger flat bed truck by putting the truck inside the garage. He thought about it a while and said he would like to try it. Working on the flat bed we spent a Saturday afternoon putting crossbeams across from side to side at the level of our jacks compressed, we put the jacks under the beams and jacked it up. Then we put crossbeams laying on the bed of the truck and fastened to the sides of the garage. Then we tied it down, and came back early Sunday morning for the move, about 25 miles over several roads. The new owner was driving ahead with his flashers going, and another coworker was following with his flashers going. Someone was going out to pick up his morning paper, and I don't think he was convinced that he wasn't dreaming, he just stood there with his mouth open scratching his head. Another house a small fuzzy dog came out running full speed and barking at the lead pickup to try and catch it, and before reaching the road he saw my truck and slammed on all fours, made an about face and with his tail between his legs ran back to the house as fast as a little ball of fur can run. We did get to one real long and steep hill, about half way up the engine was almost at a stall in second gear, so I double clutched and got it into first without grinding, so we made it to the top of the hill at a slow walk in creeper gear.
