The Man That Made My Life

Once upon a time there was a man named Donald Sandblom. He was one of the nicest guy's you could of ever met. He drove a truck that hauled milk when I first met him. My mother who was recently divorced at the time was waitressing at the local diner and he would always give her a hard time. Once he found out she had 5 kids at home to feed with only her income alone he tried to help. Gradually he made his way into all 5 of our lifes. Some of us hated it at times but we knew he ment best. If the roof leaked and he found out about it he would come over and fix it. If one of our appliances decided to breakdown he was there to help fix it, if it was repairable and would replace it if not with the help of my uncle Bill. Not only did he help us finacially he led us down the straight road in life. Even though some of us wondered off at times he still was there to grab our shirts or hair to straighten us out. Now that were grown and he is up there with God thanks to stomach cancer I'm hoping he is proud of all of us for what we accomplished. He told me to sell the tractors he restored. The fact that I sold 9 out of his 10 Farmall Tractors is that I bought a house just like he told me to do, that seems like the work never ends just like the spending, repairing, and buying odd tools. Right now I own the last of the tractors which is a 1950 Farmall C. I am hoping to restore it just like he did to all 10 that were in 2 Elgin, IL 4th of July parades. Most of them were rusty, stuck in weeds, or buried in a barn somewere when he found them. They ware restored by him but I would love to make the last one I own like new. Then I can say this is my newly remodeled traditional tractor that was handed down to me as a gift that must have been from heaven from a man that was like a god to me, giving me a the best start in life any 23 year old kid could of had and stuck with all of us through the most difficult times in our lives while always trying to lend a hand. I have a picture of me at The Settlers Day Parade in Marengo,IL of the last tractor left and would like to post it with this story.

Thank you for you time... hope to hear from you soon
