Keep on a going; the story of my Murray

She rolled off the line in ‘84, 11 horses and 32” of raw cutting power, they sent her to a store, and she sat for a few months, people would come and look at her but most would buy little push mowers, but then April 2, 1985 a man by the name of Gus Bowman (my granddad) came in to the store and loaded her up and took her to 2 and a ˝ acres of pure freedom, she cut grass and hauled stuff there for 6 years until March of '91 when one day this big green thing took her spot in the barn!!! And she was moved to the back of the barn!!! And for 7 years she did the small things like haul the grand kids (my self included) in a cart while they picked up trash, and every now and then she would get to mow for a little bit, I don’t know why he kept her I guess he liked her enough not to sale her (Thank God!!!), then in November of '98 she was giving to a man by the name of Wes Northup (my dad) finally she got a job doing a lot of big jobs like hauling big loads of brush and mowing an acre or two of grass, then one day in 2000 this kid (me) about 11 years old looked at her with sparkles is his eyes and that day she became his, he used her for the same stuff but with more respect and every night he would pat her on the hood and tell her how good of tractor she was. Over the last 20 years she has been kick at, yelled at, beatin’ on, been called a wimp, sissy, piece of crap and so much more, but she just kept on a going, she never asked for much just a few small parts here and there. After putting her picture on this site, I got so many comments telling me that she’s a pile of junk, and that I oht to sell her while I can stele get 2 cents for her. I am glad she didn’t her all that. But there was a few good comments on her, I told her those wale I would put a new part on her. Anyway she will get her engine rebuilt a new coat of paint and lots of new parts in the next year. And I don’t care what you call her or me. She will keep on going. And I will love her and keep her for the rest of my life.
