He said it wouldnt start. | When I was five and my brother was 2 1/2 we were visiting my grandparents farm. Grandad had an old Farmall (don't remember the model) and my brother and I were sitting on it and playing with all the knobs and levers etc. when all of a sudden it started!! Granddad and Grandma had been sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee and Grandma said Granddad bolted out of there when he heard the tractor start. My brother stayed on the tractor but I ran and hid. They finally found me and I got a good lecture. My little brother was shaking and crying and sitting on my grandma's lap and he looked up at her with his big eyes and said 'Grandma, there are a lot of dangerous things on this farm'. We were lucky it wasn't in gear. Funny thing is that my Grandad couldn't get the tractor started earlier that morning!! I'm 42 now but remember it like it was yesterday. My cousin still has the tractor and one of these days I'm going to try to buy it back from him. Todd Colglazier, KS, entered 2007-02-15 My Email Address: Not Displayed |
