Bacteria? | My retired friend has a 20 + year old 1700 ford tractor with a strange problem. There seems to be a bacteria that grows in the lift fluid. The bacteria clogs up the fine mesh screen, not allowing the fluid to flow, thus the lift does not work. He has had a local dealer to flush out the trans, (500.00). One time even steam cleaning it OUT with the tractor jacked up in a radical possition. That remidy lasted about six months, then clogged again. It seems that all the fluid won't drain, some part of the problem. The Ford dealer sent a man with some additive, but it did not fix problem. Friend has had this problem since new. Any one else have this problem? Anyone heard of such a thing? Any one have the answer? e-MAIL knightlite7@bellsouth.net richard willard, Fl, entered 2007-02-23 My Email Address: Not Displayed |
