Pulling Stumps

Back when I was a little boy my daddy had gotten two John deere G's and a B from my uncle who has now passed. All 3 were in non-running order, my dad decided to restore one of the G's first. From the first pop the tractor made as we got it going I fell in love, and became obsessed with john deere 2 cylinders, particularly g's. anyway I remember every day I would ask my dad if we could go find stumps or trees to pull out, I loved watching him do that. and oh the number of things that tractor did pull out for us. that was 12 years ago. that G has never had any work done to the motor in its lifetime, and the past few years at our new house in Luck wisconsin, we have used it to pull out poplar stumps nearly 2 feet wide! of course we had to do some digging, but thats expected! Ive snapped multiple towing straps with that thing! Its truly impressive how much power the g's have. On stumps that were a little too much for it the g would dig holes a foot deep with the front end off the ground the whole time. that was with calcium chloride in the rear tires. It has sat for a few years, but now I have it completely stripped down, and am building it into a puller! which means a complete engine rebuild for the first time in its life!
