Differences Between the Ford 9N and 8N

By popular request, we are listing here the main differences between the Ford 9N and the Ford 8N. You may find that your tractor is a "hybrid" due to the fact that the parts are very interchangeable.

3-Speed Transmission 4-Speed Transmission

Has Post for Foot Rests (or Running Boards which Hang from the Foot Rest) Has Running Boards attached to Transmission

Throttle Comes Up out of the Middle of the Steering Column Throttle Comes Out Near the Base of the Steering Wheel

Does Not have Louvered Door for Air Breather Does have Louvered Door for Air Breather

Has Front-Mount Distributor Could have Front or Side-Mount Distributor

Serial Number on Left Side of Engine Starts with "9N" Serial Number on Left Side of Engine Starts with "8N"
